Bright Moving Object Spotted In Sky, People Think It’s A UFO

Residents in California were stunned when they saw what appeared to be a UFO flying across the night sky.

The bright moving object was seen in the San Francisco Bay Area on Saturday night, and prompted speculation it could possibly be a UFO.

The story quickly took on a life of its own in the media and on social networks, with some people getting far too carried away and expecting an alien invasion.

Naturally, it turned out to be nothing of the sort, with the US Navy later clearing up confusion and admitting they had fired a missile.

A spokesperson said the luminous object was an unarmed Trident missile, test-fired from a submarine off the coast of Southern California.

So luckily, the aliens aren’t about to descend.
