Britain’s Got Talent fix claims aren’t going anywhere after a contestant gets reached the final despite her trick going wrong.

Eight-year-old Issy Simpson almost saw her act go horribly wrong when judge Alesha Dixon made an error during her performance, last night.

Alesha read out the wrong number off a piece of paper, which threatened to ruin the budding magician’s entire trick.

When asked to read out the number written on her note, Alesha said ‘30,515’.

Issy responded: ’17’.

Alesha apologised for her mistake saying:

Oh sorry, 17, what did I say? Sorry I’m still mesmerised by that. You put me off.

Fellow judge David Walliams said after the performance:

You’re such star. Alesha very nearly ruined it for you by nearly reading out the wrong number.

Some viewers were less than impressed with Issy getting through the round with some saying if she was older, she would have been voted out.

But despite the criticism, plenty of viewers were quick to jump to her defence, saying she deserved to go through to the live finals.

But it’s Issy’s connection to Russ Stevens, her grandad – who trained 2015 finalist Jamie Raven and 2013 contestant James More – that has got her in hot water, reports the Sun.

Viewers were supposedly left in the dark about the youngster’s connection to the programme and that her grandad had helped previous magicians in the competition.

A source told The Mirror:

[Russ] is well known in the magic world as the main magic man behind the scene on Britain’s Got Talent. I have no idea why he is doing this.

Surely the grand-daughter of the person in charge of magic performing a self-working routine she’s taught by him isn’t right?

However, a BGT spokesperson hit back and said:

Russ Stevens is a magic expert, who was used as the freelance magic consultant for two shows only in 2014. He has not been contracted since.

[Issy] went through the exact same process as any other act and was judged on her performance on the day.

Good luck Issy, we say!
