It looks like Burger King is seeking a truce with McDonald’s and have chosen the greatest reason ever.

The fast-food chain have just launched a huge campaign which basically puts Maccy D’s on blast completely, by asking them to join forces in order to create the ‘McWhopper’ – a mixture of both the Big Mac and Whopper burger, if you hadn’t worked it out.

So why have they chosen to do this? Well, all sales proceeds will be donated to ‘Peace One Day’, a nonprofit group seeking to raise awareness of the International Day of Peace, which fits the whole idea of the two arch rivals coming together.

BK aim to set up pop-up restaurants staffed with both employees from their stores and McDonald’s stores. Unfortunately, the only proposed location at the moment is a car park in the middle of a BK and McDonald’s restaurant in Atlanta.

So, if you’re reading this, head honchos of McDonald’s UK, we want in!

“Corporate activism on this scale creates mass awareness and awareness creates action and action saves lives,” said the founder of Peace One Day, Jeremy Gilley, in a video posted on mcwhopper.com.

Employees of the proposed pop-up shop would wear special half-and-half uniforms while serving the burgers, which will contain the Big Mac’s famous top bun, mixed in with Big Mac sauce, tomato slices and the 4-ounce meat patty that the Whopper boasts, among lots of other beautiful things.

I repeat: McDonald’s UK, please make this happen.
