Rapper Cardi B has donated $8,000 (over £6,000) to the family of Lesandro ‘Junior’ Guzman-Feliz, the teenager who was brutally murdered by a gang in a case of mistaken identity.

15-year-old Lesandro was brutally hacked to death with a machete after he was dragged outside of a bodega in the Bronx, New York, last week Wednesday (June 20). After the teenager’s harrowing murder the Bodak Yellow rapper donated a sizeable amount to his family.

She also took to Instagram to demand justice for the slain teen, who had dreams of becoming a police detective.

After donating to the GoFundMe page the proud Bronx native posted two pictures on Instagram in order to bring awareness to Junior’s murder and the trauma his family are going through.

In the first post, Cardi B wrote:

#justiceforjunior… R.I.P. .These Bronx streets are ruthless .What piss me off the most is that these BX cops be harassing the shit outta people then they see a boy bleeding to death and ask what happen ?“uuuummmmmmmm… How bout you call the ambulance like ya be calling for back up when ya see nikkas smoking in front of a building !!!!! People be like”call the police!” Call the police!!” But for what the operators be asking you questions for like 4 minutes on the phone with an attitude and the cops come maaa lateeee. [sic]

In a second post she stated:

Shheeeshhh this made me teared and made me feel soooo special like i feel maa special. [sic]

She let the family know that while she feels their pain, they ‘will feel more protected’ as they will feel his presence in everyday life and ‘will have signs’ God is with them. She also made her followers aware of the GoFundMe account for Junior if they wanted to help the family out.

Five people have been arrested following the murder of Lesandro ‘Junior’ Guzman-Feliz, according to the New York City Police Department.

He was allegedly dragged from a store and attacked with a machete and knives outside a Bronx deli on Wednesday evening, before being left to die on the pavement.

It’s believed to have been a case of mistaken identity, with the Chief of the NYPD describing the murder as being ‘among the most brutal crimes’ he’d seen in his 36-year career.

Guzman-Feliz, who was enrolled in the NYPD Explorers program for youths, had ‘dreamed of being a detective’, according to his family, the New York Post reports.

Chief Terence Monahan has now revealed there’ve been arrests in the case.

Making the announcement via Twitter, he wrote:

There’ve been arrests in the murder of Lesandro Guzman-Feliz. This has been a team effort between dedicated @NYPDDetectives, our law enforcement partners & you, the public we serve.

This is still an active investigation. Call #800577TIPS with info. We will have #JUSTICEFORJUNIOR

A video was released over the weekend by the NYPD in an attempt to bring the perpetrators to justice.

Junior’s mother, Leandra Feliz, told the NY Post:

He was my angel. He was a sweet child. But they killed my son like he was junk.

Since he was five-years-old, he told me, ‘Mommy, I want to be a police’

He loved the police car [He said], ‘I wanna drive the police car’.
