Black Friday. A day that brings out the worst in humanity. Adults robbing kids, people getting in fist fights over a reduced TV and people stocking up on shit they almost certainly didn’t need.

But one of the funnier stories to emerge over that day was that of the guys behind popular game Cards Against Humanity. To give their customers the ultimate Black Friday experience they took their store offline and offered people a chance to buy nothing for the very reasonable price of $5.

You’re probably asking yourself, ‘surely no-one would buy something for nothing?’ But, you’re so so wrong. More than 11,00 people took them up on this once in a lifetime deal and they made a staggering profit of $71,145, with one excited customer even donating $100 to the cause.

In the past, the company has done a lot for charity. According to a statement- released yesterday- they’ve donated $4 million to several charities and started a $500,000 full-scholarship for women in science.

So there was plenty of rumour and speculation about what the company would do with the $71,145 they got from their sales of nothing. “We’re happy to announce that this time, we kept it all,” the company said in an announcement that also included a list of things they bought.

So, what did the employees do with all this dollar? Well they donated about around a third of it to charity, avid gamers amongst them opted for brand new game console packs and some loved a tipple – particularly scotch. But here’s a few of the more bizarre and elaborate purchases…

Some of them really love their cats…

Because, who doesn’t want to make this happen?

A couple took inspiration from Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones for their purchases…

Whilst others simply wanted a luxury orgasm… obviously.

They may have splurged on themselves, but it’s nice to see they backed this up with important charity donations too.
