Back in 1997 Carmageddon burst on to the scene and caused controversy with easily wound-up people everywhere because you could run pedestrians over and that was meant to be a laugh. I mean, it absolutely was, to be fair.
Now it’s 2016, and Carmageddon: Max Damage wants to outrage as many people as possible. It’ll have a much harder time causing trouble in an age where Grand Theft Auto V is a thing, but going by the trailer in which a woman in a wheelchair is crushed to nothing under a truck, it’s gonna have a good go at it.
At any rate, the new Carmageddon looks like tremendous, ridiculous fun. We’ll be getting over 30 cool custom killing machines and 10 large open environments to explore.
There are also (of course) a host of moving targets to hunt down for points, including pedestrians in wheelchairs & mobility scooters, cyclists, bears, and aliens. Standard. In addition, there’ll be a multiplayer mode with four online event types, and a career mode with six different event types.
Carmageddon: Max Damage is coming to PS4 and Xbox One mid 2016. Game of the Year. Calling it now.
