Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher died from sleep apnoea and ‘other factors’, according to a new coroners report.

In January, her death certificate said that the 60-year-old had suffered a cardiac arrest- but in a statement the LA coroner said the exact cause was unknown, TMZ reports.

The report also claimed that the actress, who was best known for her role as Princess Leia, suffered from heart disease and took multiple drugs leading to her death.

But the coroner couldn’t determine whether those drugs were significant enough to trigger the heart attack she suffered. Her manner of death would be listed as undetermined, the report said.

Fisher was on tour promoting her new book when she was taken ill from a flight bound for Los Angeles from London on December 23rd.

She never regained consciousness and died four days later at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Centre. In an even more tragic turn of events her mother, Debbie Reynolds, died the following day.

In light of the results, her brother Todd Fisher, said he wasn’t surprised by them- adding that his family did not want a coroner’s investigation of his sister’s death.
