There are a variety of weapons to be used in Battlefield 1, each perfectly designed for bringing the pain to your foes.
However, one of the most interesting (and hilarious) weapons for the WWI shooter so far has to be this little (literally) gem.
Now, I don’t think the above image really does justice to quite how tiny it actually is, so check out the gif below for a more accurate impression.
Believe it or not, this comedic pea-shooter is based on a real life weapon. It’s actually a 2.7mm Kolibri Car Pistol – a very real gun, made by an Austrian watchmaker by the name of Franz Pfannl back in 1914.
Here’s a picture of the real thing next to a normal sized bullet for comparison.
This is clearly designed to be an in-game weapon specifically for trolling and disrespecting your opponents – but I’m willing to bet we’ll soon see plenty of pros that are proficient with this particular SBD weapon alone.
In reality, the gun is incredibly hard to use, difficult to load, and near-impossible to aim. Hardly surprising given it’s size.
Check out some footage of the gun in action below (via YouTuber jackfrags).
And a wee history lesson for the wee gun.
All guns are horrific, dangerous creations of course – but truth be told, I’d much rather someone come at me with this little guy than a regular pistol any day of the week.
