As the new Top Gear appears to go from one problem to another before it’s even aired, former presenters Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May are having a whale of a time on their new show.
The infamous trio were spotted filming for their new Amazon Prime motoring show in Surrey, driving a souped up Mercedes with enormous off road wheels, reports the Mirror.
Looks like we can expect some classic Top Gear style challenges on the new show, just like the good old days then!
New footage snapped by a passer-by shows Jezza behind the wheel of the bizarre modified car, with James May alongside him in the passenger seat, and Richard Hammond sitting in the back, apparently exasperated at Clarkson’s enthusiasm with the crazy vehicle.
Stuart Cox, 51, spotted the bizarre sight on Thursday afternoon outside the opticians where he works.
The clip shows Clarkson pull up to Mr Cox as Hammond asks him: “What are you doing?”
They then have a chat about the car with the lucky passer-by, with Clarkson dubbing the car both ‘brilliant’ and ‘excellent’, while a clearly unimpressed Hammond simply calls it ‘different’.
Speaking to the Mirror, Mr Cox added:
I saw the car go past a few times so I went to be a bit nosey and see what was going on. I was quite shocked when I saw who it was behind the wheel. I was standing on the traffic island in the middle of the road and I really didn’t expect him to stop, but he did.
Jeremy asked me what I thought of the car and it sounded like he was trying to convince the other two about it. They didn’t exactly look enamoured. It was brilliant to see. I’m a Top Gear fan so it made me smile.
It doesn’t look like the terrible trio have changed much then! It all bodes very well for the new series, if you ask us.
