Chester Bennington’s Wife Shares Pic Of Him Smiling Just Days Before Tragic Suicide

Chester Bennington’s wife has posted a picture of her late husband with the family, smiling, just a number of days before he took his life.

Talinda Bennington wrote underneath the family photo ‘suicidal thoughts were there, but you’d never know’.

She added the hashtag ‘fuck depression’, which she’s been using frequently in her recent posts, as well as the hashtag ‘Make Chester Proud’.

The Linkin Park frontman left behind his wife and six children when he took his life at their LA home back in July.

Talinda has been active on Twitter since the death of her husband, talking to fans and raising awareness on mental health – something Chester battled with for many years.

Her post only highlights the fact somebody can be smiling on the outside but be battling inner demons.

The term ‘smiling depression’ has been around for some time now, is described as, individuals who put on a ‘false front’ to hide their symptoms of depression and anxiety.

While this may not have been the case for Chester – who was very open about his battles, writing many honest lyrics – it’s important to realise, just because somebody looks happy on the outside, it doesn’t mean they are.

Chester’s death came on what would’ve been the 53rd birthday of Chris Cornell, a close friend of Chester’s, who also took his own life after a gig in May.

The Soundgarden and Audioslave frontman was found dead at the MGM Grand in Detroit shortly after playing a gig at the city’s Fox Theatre on May 18, he was aged 52.

According to law enforcement sources in the US, the manner in which Chester took his own life mirrored that of Chris Cornell.

When Cornell took his own life, the Linkin Park singer was vocal of the heartbreak it caused him.

Chester died just days before Linkin Park were due to go on tour in support of their new album, One More Light.

The band have revealed they’re working on a special public event in Los Angeles to ‘honour Chester’s memory’ and details will be released in the near future.
