Chris Pratt and Anna Faris have announced their separation after eight years of marriage.
The U.S. actors, who met while filming the romantic comedy Take Me Home Tonight, shared messages on social media saying attempts to save their relationship had failed.

Faris and Pratt made the joint announcement on Sunday night saying:
We are sad to announce we are legally separating. We tried hard for a long time, and we’re really disappointed.
We still have love for each other, will always cherish our time together and continue to have the deepest respect for one another.

Pratt, 38, and Faris, 40, who were married in 2009 have a son named Jack.
They continued to stress the need for privacy at this difficult time, for Jack’s sake.
PAFaris (Lost in Translation, Entourage, The Dictator) stood alongside Pratt (Jurassic World, Parks and Recreation, Guardians of the Galaxy) earlier this year when his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame was unveiled.
Pratt paid tribute to his wife, saying: “Without you, none of this would mean anything.”
