Thanks to Parks and Recreation, we know Chris Pratt is no stranger to belting out soft rock ballads. He’s also an established actor and funnyman – but he’s no one-trick pony.
Appearing on DJ Whoo Kid’s radio show Whoolywood Shuffle, Pratt spoke about his love of hip-hop, saying the dawn of Eminem’s career and his ‘Chronic 2001’ album was all he listened to.
Comparing his relationship with the album to the mixtape his Guardians of the Galaxy character, Peter Quill, listens to, he said: “Me and my friend lived in a van in Maui and we listened to that and smoked weed every day. I know every word to that album.”
YouTubeWhen asked to prove it, Pratt spat out a pretty damn flawless rhythmically-perfect a cappella of Eminem’s verse from ‘Forgot About Dre’.
The video is from 2014, but it’s making the rounds again online – and for good reason. Chris Pratt is fucking aces when it comes to rapping.
If you thought that was impressive, some hero took the footage of Pratt and added the song’s original beat.
The result?
If acting doesn’t work out for him, he may just have a future in hip-hop.
