Today America celebrates its Independence Day, the momentous day when the world threw off the shackles of foreign oppression after Randy Quaid bravely sacrificed his life to destroy an alien spaceship – or is that the 1996 classic movie?
Either way, it seems that Roland Emmerich’s sci-fi hit may have been more prescient than anyone realised, as ufologists have discovered an ‘alien ship’ comparable in size to the colossal vessels in ID4.
The massive ship, which UFO experts believe could be miles across, was discovered at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean, just off the west coast of Mexico, using Google Maps, The Mirror reports.
YouTubeUfologists believe the otherworldly craft is a ‘perfect pyramid’ and it was found by Argentinian researcher Marcelo Igazust last month, who claims to have seen a beam of light shining from the darkness of the ocean.
The mysterious structure can be seen at the co-ordinates 12 ° 8’1.49 ‘N 119 ° 35’26.39’ W.
Renowned alien hunter Scott C. Waring has estimated the ship’s size at 8.5 miles across although he added that’s a conservative estimate, and it could be 11 miles across.

Then again, Scott C. Waring’s never seen a blur on Google maps that he didn’t think was an alien spacecraft, so take this with a pinch of salt – but just to be safe, can someone get Jeff Goldblum and Will Smith on standby, please?
