Former Eggheads star Joseph Connagh, better known as CJ de Mooi, has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Connagh was arrested under a European arrest warrant issued by Dutch Police at Heathrow Airport on Wednesday, The Independent reports.
The former quiz star had been facing extradition to the Netherlands after confessing in his autobiography, published last year, that he might have killed a mugger in self defence back in the 1980s.
Connagh wrote in the book:
He caught me on the wrong day and I just snapped – I punched him so hard in the face, knocked the knife out of his hand and threw him in the canal.
He went on to add that he fully suspected he killed him.
Before being arrested, CJ tweeted this:
And this was the last photo he posted:
As you’d expect the Internet, with all the sympathy of a particularly selfish sociopath, immediately tore into CJ’s last tweet.
And they’re actually quite funny…
Connagh joined the Eggheads panel when the show started back in 2003 but left in 2011 to pursue a career in acting.
Mr Connagh is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.

Since then his rise has been described by himself as ‘meteoric’ rising to the esteemed rank of Social Editor at UNILAD as well as working at the BBC, Manchester Evening News, and ITV.
He credits his success to three core techniques, name repetition, personality mirroring, and never breaking off a handshake.
