The concierge at the hotel where Kim Kardashian was held at gunpoint has broken his silence to claim he had warned his bosses that guests were ‘vulnerable’ for years.
The father-of-one, named only as Abdulrahman because of fears for his safety, said he had warned Hôtel de Pourtalès that guests were unsafe years before the £8.5 million heist – and even claimed that security was so lax that ‘someone might die’.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, he said those in charge of the elite Hôtel de Pourtalès ‘didn’t care’ about security, adding the security code for the front door had not changed in years and ‘everyone knew it’.
He added:
There was no real security at all. It’s a choice. The hotel doesn’t mind about security. We told them years and years before, you have to make a camera, you have to put [in place] a security process, about keys. Nothing was locked, there was no proper security there.
The 39-year-old security guard was the only guard on duty when the reality star was bound, gagged and robbed at about 2.30am on October 3rd.
Abdulrahman revealed that during the heist, he was handcuffed, led to the reality star’s room by gunpoint and was forced to act as an interpreter during the 30 minutes robbers were in the hotel.
He claims Kim’s room – where she often stayed with husband Kanye West while in Paris – could be accessed with just one Yale-type lock. He added: “There is a camera in the main wall of the hotel, behind the big red [front] doors, but it didn’t work for years.”
He is now planning on taking legal action against the hotel for the distress caused to him.
