Irish UFC superstar Conor McGregor celebrated his win over Chad Mendes in style, hitting the town hard with his UFC interim featherweight title in tow.
The 26-year-old TKO’d Mendes in the dying seconds of the second round of their at UFC 189 bout in Las Vegas on Saturday night, to set up a potential title unification bout with Jose Aldo in the coming months.
And ‘The Notorious’ McGregor was pretty pleased to have kept his winning streak alive, judging by how wild his after-party was.
He reportedly supplied “enough booze to kill” at Foxtail in the SLS Hotel and partied until the early hours with fans who gave him a hero’s welcome.
The UFC have also just announced that Conor McGregor will coach opposite Urijah Faber on the upcoming season of reality TV show ‘The Ultimate Fighter’.
The 22nd season of the show will pit Team Europe, coached by McGregor, against Team USA coached by Faber.
The two fighters have a long standing grudge, which was only exacerbated by McGregor’s win over Faber’s team-mate Mendes and by a backstage altercation between the Irish star and ‘The California Kid’ before Friday’s weigh-ins.
The animosity between the two should make for an entertaining season of the show, although we hope this doesn’t further delay McGregor’s big showdown with Aldo!
