An air crash expert has said he believes the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 was brought down on purpose by a rogue pilot.

According to expert investigator Larry Vance, a section of wing from the ill-fated plane shows evidence it was extended upon landing meaning it was deliberately crashed into the ocean.

According to The Guardian, Vance believes no other theory can explain the fate of the doomed aircraft. He told Channel Nine’s, 60 Minutes program: “Somebody was flying the airplane into the water.”

Up to now, the theory has been that the jet was not under human control when it crashed with 239 people on board.

The flight was en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing in March 2014, when it inexplicably changed course, heading south over the Indian Ocean.

Vance believes the flaperon – part of the wing – recovered from the ocean, shows ‘definite evidence’ it was extended at the time of landing – an action that can only be activated by a person.

He also said that a lack of floating debris could be explained by a controlled landing.

He said:

Everybody should have concluded in my opinion that this was a human engineered event, there’s no other explanation.

Vance isn’t the only expert who believes this. Australian Transport Safety Bureau crash investigator Peter Foley agreed it could be down to a rogue pilot.

He said:

There is a possibility there was someone in control at the end and we’re actively looking for evidence to support that.

It has also recently been revealed that the captain’s home flight simulator showed he plotted an almost identical route into the southern Indian Ocean a month before the flight.

However, this discovery was ‘overlooked’ in an interim report on the investigation with Foley saying the reason for this was a ‘question for the Malaysians’.

Hmmm…
