Years of memes, tweets and speculation have led to this moment; we finally know who didn’t flush their shit in the iconic viral video. DISGUSTING!
When mum Lizzie Brash interrupted her daughters to find out who didn’t know how to flush the toilet, she probably wasn’t intending to become internet famous.
But her angry interrogation quickly became one of the world’s most quotable videos, with people impersonating her frustration, complete with Scottish accent, to accuse people of all sorts. Because ‘IT WAS FUCKIN ONE OF YAS!’
Before their mum barged in, Kimberly and Becky G were introducing their video, explaining they were going to sing Cher Lloyd by Cher Lloyd.
In the interest of accuracy, Cher Lloyd isn’t actually a song by Cher Lloyd, but they never made it as far as singing anyway.
Instead, the mum arrived, bringing they question that’s left us wondering for so many years: Who left the shit in the toilet?
Refresh your memory of the brilliant video below:
Lizzie burst in, shouting:
Why does somebody not know how to flush the toilet after they’ve had a shit?!
Immediately, younger sister Becky G was on the defensive, saying:
It wasn’t me.
This response sparked the most memorable line of the video, as the agitated mother responded:
Well, it was fuckin one of yas… DISGUSTING!
Now, after five long years, the answer has finally been revealed in a webcam video which has been shared on Twitter. Despite her denial, it turns out Becky was the culprit all along.
Check it out:
Clearly proud of the way she managed to deceive her audience, Becky said:
It was me that done the shit in the toilet. Whoever thought it wasn’t me… it was me, to surprise you.
Who doesn’t even know how to flush the toilet after they’ve done a shit? It was me!
It’s a strange thing to admit to, especially considering she could have got away with it, but at least she’s given us all the closure we deserved.
According to The Scottish Sun, Lizzie’s outburst still haunts her to this day as people often call her out in the street with heckles of ‘DISGUSTING’.
A friend of the mum explained:
Lizzie is mortified by the whole thing. She would be in Tesco and people would shout, “Disgustin’!”.
Workies would be hanging out their vans shouting at them too. The girls get it all the time from other kids at school. It’s relentless.
Even when they were on holiday in Scarborough, folk were shouting the catchphrases.
Maybe the trend will die out now the final piece of the puzzle has been revealed and we all know it was Becky who didn’t flush the toilet?
Actually, who am I kidding? In the internet age things like this never die.
