A family trip to the park was ruined this week when a ‘playful ghost’ decided to jump on a nearby swing, freaking everyone out.
The ‘haunted swing’ was recorded by Scotty Denton, from Warwick, Rhode Island, who claims it was moving back and forth when he and his kids arrived – despite there being no wind.
The eerie sight of the swing sinisterly swaying under its own power made Scotty decide it’d be best for his kids to give the playground a miss, The Daily Mail reports.
The concerned dad believes there was an otherworldly presence in the playground, saying he couldn’t explain how the swing was moving.
He explained:
We’re in the playground and the kids don’t want to go anymore because look at this shit. This is real, look at this. There’s nobody on it, there’s no wind.
In the clip – which has been watched an amazing 4.5 million times on Facebook – the family sit in their car watching the swing violently move back and forth while the other swings stay stationary.
Scotty’s son suggested that ‘maybe somebody pushed it,’ despite there seemingly being no one around.
The family aren’t the only ones who’ve noticed spooky things in the playground, with a local saying: “We drive by it all the time, that thing is always going crazy. Tom said just the other day it’s gonna knock someone out one day lol.”
Ghosts could be one explanation for the swing, another could be the slightly more plausible idea that a kid just got off it and ran away…
More of a concept than a journalist, Tom Percival was forged in the bowels of Salford University from which he emerged grasping a Masters in journalism.
Since then his rise has been described by himself as ‘meteoric’ rising to the esteemed rank of Social Editor at UNILAD as well as working at the BBC, Manchester Evening News, and ITV.
He credits his success to three core techniques, name repetition, personality mirroring, and never breaking off a handshake.
