A Russian dancer collapsed on stage after suffering a fatal heart attack, as the oblivious audience cheered.
The 48-year-old performer, identified as R. Khusainov, was performing at a local town’s Mother’s Day concert in Urus-Martan in the Chechen Republic, South West Russia, when he went into cardiac arrest.
The audience cheered after his fellow dancers jovially called for the crowd to encourage Khusainov, who worked as a dance teacher, to get up and continue performing.
Footage shows Khusainov collapsing onto the stage floor while energetically performing a dance of the local region, the Lezginka dance, which is traditionally performed by Chechens and Cossacks.
Liza Akhmatova, the female singer who was on stage with the man at the time of his death, continued to perform as she approached his body. Quickly realising the gravity of the situation, she called for other performers to help.
Amid gasps and screams from the audience, people flooded onto centre stage from the wings to attempt a resuscitation. Paramedics arrived on the scene but Khusainov, who had a history of heart disease, was pronounced dead.
An individual in the crowd caught the tragic death on camera, and the video has since gone viral.
