PAApparently this is what happens now – former boxing heavyweight champion David Haye has agreed to fight UFC star Jimi Manuwa.
David Haye and Manuwa reportedly chatted before former Geordie Shore star Aaron Chalmer’s knock out win at BAMMA 31.
Manuwa, currently the UFC light heavyweight number four rank, confirmed the fight would happen early in 2018.
PAHold your horses though, because the fight will have to wait until early next year for a couple of reasons.
The main one being Haye is still recovering from the ruptured Achilles he suffered in his defeat to Tony Bellew earlier this year, but also because he and Bellew must face-off again
Speaking to MMAuno, Manuwa said:
The fight is on. I want it, he wants it. He says he has to fight a couple more fights before we are going to do it.

The pair are obviously hoping to follow in the, now presumably diamond crusted footsteps, of Floyd Maywather and Conor McGregor’s extremely profitable ‘Money Fight’.
Undefeated Mayweather beat Octogon legend McGregor by TKO in the 10th round in Las Vegas last month as The Notorious switched disciplines to take on the boxer at his own game.

It seems unlikely a Haye/Mauwa card will receive quite as much hype as the Money Fight, but chances are it won’t leave the bank balances of either fighter looking too shabby…
