Andrew Neil has been left dumbfounded after interviewing everyone’s favourite old school conspiracy theorist David Icke on This Week.
Neil questioned Icke about his views on both 9/11 and his infamous – and far more believable – theory that the British Royal family are in actual fact, shape-shifting lizards, reports the Huffington Post.
Clearly unimpressed with Icke’s let’s say, unconventional views, Neil asked him:
Do you still think the Royal Family were shape shifting lizards?
Unwavering in his beliefs, Icke answered firmly: “Yes, I do.” Neil continued: “You also want us to believe that 9/11 is a conspiracy?” The question was met with another resounding ‘yes’.
Obviously struggling to comprehend the situation, the bemused presenter responded:
I can see the point that you might have some questions about 9/11 but if you also think that Buckingham Palace is inhabited by lizards, it kind of undermines you.
But Icke wasn’t giving up and defended his views saying:
It’s not that simple. The whole big back story before you get to what I’m saying, if you deliver it in one line – ‘the world is run by reptiles’ – you meet on one level – ‘Oh that’s crazy’.
But, Icke said that when you see the back story and the ‘ancient evidence’ to support his theory, you begin to see things in a different context – presumably that people a thousand years ago were just as crazy as you are now David…
A former professional goalkeeper and television presenter, Icke became notorious in the 90s.
He claimed a race of ‘shape-shifting lizards’ were masquerading as presidents and monarchs and during an appearance on Sir Terry Wogan’s chat show, he also asserted he was the son of God.
In good news for Brexiters, Icke has also come out in support of leaving the European Union – just the man you want endorsing your campaign.
