At this point it seems like everything we learn about Dead Rising 4 has come via leaks. First we were treated to some pre-E3 screenshots, now we’ve got a bunch of great new gameplay footage to pore over.
The footage was sent to Polygon, who were nice enough to post it online. According to the site, the gameplay represents an early build of the game for PC.
The video showcases Frank West (the original Dead Rising hero) taking pictures. Presumably this confirms that the photography mechanic from the first game is making a comeback – you can also take selfies now, because 2016.
We also get a good look at Willamette Mall, a returning setting from the original game. Fighting zombies in a shopping mall? Where do they come up with this stuff?
There’s also a few scenes that show off Frank using one or two of the many (many) weapons at his disposal. We see a fairly conventional assault rifle, and a wonderfully unconventional lawnmower equipped with a flamethrower. Check it out below.
Dead Rising 4’s release date has been confirmed as December 6, which brings it in line nicely with the game’s festive setting.
The zombie slaying title will launch for Xbox One and Windows 10 PC, but Microsoft has confirmed that the game is a timed exclusive and could eventually come to PS4 and Steam.
