Bad news for Deadpool fans, he won’t be hosting SNL but he’s at least bothered to explain why.
Deadpool may have only been out for a week but the most successful R-rated opening ever has got fans clamouring for as much Deadpool based carnage as they can get. So it’s no surprise they started a petition to get the fourth wall breaking character to host Saturday Night Live.
Unfortunately the appearance is unlikely to happen, but in true Deadpool style Ryan Reynolds has recorded an official ‘leaked rant’ explaining why he won’t be hosting. And of course he couldn’t resist poking fun at Kanye West’s recent backstage meltdown.
In the audio clip the world’s new favourite anti hero claims that SNL boss, Lorne Michaels, stole his Life of Pablo album, and that Rip Taylor is a ‘fake ass bitch’.
The rant continues with Deadpool claiming he’s had the biggest opening for an R-rated movie ever and that he’s more influential than MC Hammer, Judas Iscariot, The Muppets and of course Wolverine.
Although he does admit that the Urban Dictionary is seven per cent more influential than him, so at least he’s got some perspective.
The original Change.org petition is currently just 20,000 signatures shy of its 75,000 goal. And while the Merc with a Mouth won’t be appearing any time soon, it’s probably worth pointing out that Reynolds has hosted SNL before now.
Back in 2009 he hosted with Lady Gaga so it’s still within the realms of possibility that Reynolds will make an appearance just don’t expect the red suit…
