Deadpool Trolls New Avengers: Endgame Movie On Expert Level

Yesterday the most eagerly anticipated trailer of 2018 finally hit the web to the delight of millions, but one person it seems wasn’t happy with the release, none other than Deadpool.

And like a superhero based Grinch, the regenerating degenerate has decided to steal the attention away from Avengers: Endgame by any means necessary.

In this case, Deadpool’s stolen the URL, AvengersEndgame.com so that it redirects to an advert for his upcoming film, Once Upon A Deadpool rather than anything Avengers related.

I guess all is fair in love and film marketing?

Once Upon A Deadpool is a PG-13 recut of this year’s Deadpool 2 with a few new cheeky bonus scenes thrown in for good measure. Most notably the film features a unique framing mechanism.

Well, I say unique, what I actually mean is they stole from paid homage to The Princess Bride by borrowing its framing mechanism wholesale but replaced Peter Falk’s grandad with Deadpool.

Fred Savage is back though, so that’s good! Although he’s there against his will, which is bad! Thankfully his kidnapping will serve a good cause, as a portion of Once Upon A Deadpool’s profits will go to Ryan Reynold’s cancer Charity F*ck Cancer.

According to Reynold’s, this was a condition of his making a PG Deadpool movie.

Reynold’s told Deadline

Fox has been asking for a PG-13 basically since the start in 2006, I’ve said no since 2006. Now, this one time, I said ‘Yes’ on two conditions.

First, a portion of the proceeds had to go to charity. Second, I wanted to kidnap Fred Savage. The second condition took some explaining…

Fred Savage has also released a statement saying that while his participation in the film was anything but voluntary he’s pleased that this ‘shameless cash grab’ will benefit a charity.

Once Upon a Deadpool will have a limited-run in America which will begin on December 12 and conclude on Christmas Eve. Here in the UK meanwhile it’s a one day only affair on December 11.

Unfortunately for younger British fans of the Merc With A Mouth Once Upon A Deadpool didn’t get a PG rating here in the UK, it got a 15 certificate.

According to the BBFC who give out the certificate Once Upon a Deadpool includes scenes of violence, sex and language that would be inappropriate for a younger audience.

They wrote:

[Deadpool includes] strong violence including a man’s back being broken over a table, causing his body to distort. There are several crunchy bone breaks and stabbings, as well as the suggestion of a man being attacked with a chainsaw…

Crude humour includes a long sequence of bleeped language in which a man reels off the various ways and positions in which he would like to ‘bleep’ a particular actor, as well as the suggestion that the contents of a soap dispenser has been replaced with semen. There are crude sex references throughout, including to pornography, ball gags, sex toys and oral sex.

There are several verbal references to paedophilia, sex offenders and incest, and visual and verbal references to drug misuse.

Sounds like the perfect festive family film.

Once Upon A Deadpool will briefly hit UK cinemas on December 11 meanwhile Avengers: Endgame crashes into theatres on April 26.
