A dental nurse and part-time model from Bradford has been struck off after performing a DIY facelift on a friend.

41-year-old Adele Royston planned the home surgery for two years before putting her friend under the knife in February 2014.

The Daily Mail reports that Royston used a local anaesthetic before slicing into her friend’s face in two places to tighten the skin.

After returning from leave, when the operation was conducted, Royston admitted to a colleague at Integrated Dental Holdings what she had done and was sacked for gross misconduct.

A General Dental Council (GDC) professional conduct committee was reported by the Mail as condemning Royston’s actions.

They said:

The procedure had been long in gestation and had involved a significant degree of planning and preparation.

The surgical facelift placed the individual in question at considerable risk, constituting an invasive procedure involving two incisions and sutures to her face.

The committee is in no doubt, and has no difficulty whatsoever in finding, that the facts that it has found proved amount to misconduct.

In her online modelling profile Royston writes:

Well I am a very honest person who has an open mind, doesnt realy [sic] get stressed and a caring person.

I have blonde wavy hair that is 20″ long and I do have a pretty face with blue eyes.

I love life and enjoy my work, meeting new people is the one thing i love. All work will be considered.

Did no one tell her that being open to all work doesn’t actually qualify you to do all work?
