Disney ParksDisney have shared more details about their incredible-sounding ‘Star Wars land’.
In a post on the Disney Parks Blog the team explained their plans for new galactic lands at Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts.
The fact they mention Disneyland should mean that Europeans and Americans will get a chance at some adventures in a galaxy not so far away.

Doug Chang, Vice President/Creatvive Director for Star Wars, says:
It’s all the things that you’ve always wanted to do watching the movie that you’ve never had a chance to do.
Apparently; “Guests will feel they are really truely visiting Star Wars.” Which from most people would sound like hyperbole, but Disney Parks has a strong record of bringing the fantastical to the real world in a truly convincing and authentic-feeling way.
Disney ParksNo matter what you feel about Disney’s involvement with the classic sci-fi franchise, you can’t really argue that they’re probably the best company on the planet to bring the universe to life in the real world.
Dave Filoni, Executive Producer/Supervising Director on Star Wars Rebels, said:
Wouldn’t it be great just to walk into the Mos Eisley Cantina or to sit on the Millennium Falcon?
It would be great Dave, it really fucking would. Dave continues; “This generation of kids is going to be able to do that.”
Those kids will have to fight me and a load of other sweaty nerds first, Dave.
Disney ParksDisney Parks Blog also gave details about where the theme park galatic lands will be set:
This mysterious destination somewhere on the Outer Rim — lying on the edge of the Unknown Regions. The remote village was once a busy crossroads along the old sub-lightspeed trade routes, but the prominence of the outpost has been bypassed with the rise of hyperspace travel.
They also explained that it might have a bit of a shady vibe:
Now home to those who prefer less attention, it has become a thriving port for smugglers, rogue traders and adventurers traveling between the frontier and uncharted space. It’s also a convenient safe-haven for others intent on avoiding the expanding reach of the First Order.
Sounds a bit like a spacey Whetherspoons. I would totally go to space-spoons.
There’s is a bit of a wait before I can pack my plastic lightsaber and Jedi pyjamas though as the parks are expected to open in 2019.
Still, gives me time to have a kid or something so I don’t look too creepy going round Disneyland on my own.
