Angie Vu Ha - InstagramA former America’s Got Talent contestant who was jailed after trying to take her child to China, says it’s an outrage that her daughter’s father set the police on her as he never wanted the little girl.
The Vietnamese DJ, Angie Vu Ha, said: “I delivered and raised my child alone for the first seven years of her life without a penny contribution from the father.” Ha was jailed on November 4 on an Interpol warrant as she tried to board a flight from JFK to China with her daughter.
She provided emails that she says prove the father, French citizen, Richard Froger, wasn’t interested in the girl until he got a court order awarding him custody in France.
Froger allegedly wrote to Ha in 2005, after she told him she was pregnant, saying: “I never wanted to have a baby with you and I made that clear… It seems absolutely selfish to want to have a baby without a father.”
A French court awarded Froger custody of the child in August and the girl was taken from the airport to Paris. Ha claims it took Froger five years before he decided to take a mild interest in the child.
He allegedly wrote in a 2010 email: “I’m henceforth ready to take my responsibilities… I can’t stay longer to wake up each day knowing that I have a daughter on the other end of the world.”
Ha say Froger only had limited visits with the girl over the following years and would often disappear from her life, but finally demanded that she live in Paris with him this past May.

In an email provided by Ha, Froger wrote: “I can no longer be silent about the overexposure of Isabella on your social media, where it’s not a place for a child according to your activities,”
In a French court in June, he used ‘Angie’s photos on Instagram of Angie Playboy’s Frisky Friday selfie’ to paint the idea that Ha was a ‘tramp’, and told the judge, “Angie’s a porn star.”
Angie Vu Ha Limited Calendar 2015In an interview with the New York Post, Ha said: “After lying in French court to rob my child from me, he kept on lying to Interpol and US court to try his best to put me, the mother of his child, in prison… I’m terrified about my child’s future and about how my relationship with her would be.”
Ha claims she didn’t know she was a fugitive before she was arrested, and says she was heading to Vietnam with her daughter to fight for custody there.
Ha has a Brooklyn federal court appearance Monday.
