GettyDJ Khaled’s fiancee’s brother has been murdered following an apparent drug deal gone wrong.
Police say Jonathan Tuck, brother to Nicole, was shot in the face after showing up to a Bronx apartment Sunday night to buy cannabis.
After reportedly getting into an argument, Jonathan was fatally gunned down.
The incident took place on Washington Avenue near E. 185th St, in Belmont.
He was escorted to St. Barnabas hospital where he later died.
Law enforcement sources told TMZ a 34-year-old male had been detained for questioning regarding the murder.
Jonathan’s friend of seven years Brandon Davis, 30, said:
He’s a good guy. He was in the wrong place at the wrong time. There was no reason for him to be there.
Davis, a football coach, said he met Tuck when he played defensive for the Bronx Colts in 2011 and remained friends over the years.
The pair were supposed to watch the Super Bowl together on Sunday but Tuck didn’t show up. At 4 am on Monday, Tuck’s girlfriend called Davis with the terrible news.
He added:
All I can think about is I’m sitting here celebrating football and my friend is across town dying.
Khaled himself was allegedly in Minneapolis for the Super Bowl when Tuck was killed. Police sources say Nicole Tuck and her mother rushed to the Bronx after learning the news, New York Daily News reports.
DJ Khaled has yet to respond to the tragedy.
