Donald Trump wants everyone know to he’s not stupid.

The Republican is hitting back after London’s first Muslim mayor warned his ‘ignorant’ views on religion will make the world less safe if he becomes President.

So in an interview with Piers Morgan on Good Morning Britain, Trump clarified that he is in fact, ‘not stupid’ and challenged Sadiq Khan to an IQ test to prove it, the Huffington Post reports.

The Republican presidential hopeful told Piers Morgan that he does not ‘care’ about the new Mayor of London’s comments, saying: “Well let’s go and do an IQ test.”

Morgan told Trump:

[Sadiq Khan] says you will make both of our countries less safe, he says ‘I hope Donald Trump loses the election’.

He says ‘my message to Trump and his team is that your views of Islam are ignorant’

Obviously, Trump didn’t take this too well.

He said:

He doesn’t know me, hasn’t met me, doesn’t know what I’m on about.

I think they’re very rude statements and frankly tell him I will remember those statements. They’re very nasty statements. I think it’s ignorant for him to say that.

We have a tremendous problem with radical Islamic terror. Look at it worldwide. The world is blowing up and it’s not people from Sweden that’s doing the damage, OK?

Within hours, a spokesman for the London mayor said Donald Trump’s views were ‘ignorant, divisive and dangerous.’

The spokesman added that Sadiq has spent ‘his whole life fighting extremism, but Trump’s remarks make that fight much harder’ as it ‘plays straight into the ‘extremists’ hands’ and make both the U.S. and Britain less safe.

As for the IQ test, the mayor’s spokesman said there were ‘no plans’ to carry out the challenge, saying: “Ignorance is not the same thing as lack of intelligence.”

Looks like we’ll have to wait to see what Trump’s true IQ is, then.
