President Donald Trump has issued yet another warning to Kim Jong-un over in North Korea about America’s military might and nuclear power.
After Pyongyang fired a ballistic missile into the Pacific Ocean over Japan, the nineteenth this year, Kim Jong-un has provoked a serious international reaction, receiving condemnation from their neighbours in South Korea, as well as from NATO and the UN.
Not far behind, President Trump weighed in, addressing hundreds of Air Force personnel at Joint Base Andrews.
His message, which was delivered while standing in front of an American flag and a B-2 stealth bomber – capable of dropping nuclear bombs – was as subtle as a wrecking ball – or a ballistic missile.
Donald had some fighting talk for Kim, in the latest round of this ridiculous nuclear pissing contest:
Nothing inspires more confidence in our friends, or strikes more fear in the hearts of our enemies, than the sight of American war planes on the horizon.
Our aviators have given America total dominance of the air and space no matter where we fly.
Now when our enemies hear the F-35’s engines, when they’re roaring overhead, their souls will tremble and they will know the day of reckoning has arrived.
Speaking directly to the personnel on the ground, POTUS continued:
After seeing your capabilities and commitment here today, I am more confident than ever, our options in addressing this threat are both effective and overwhelming.
America has dominated both air and space like no other nation in history. Our air superiority is unquestioned. Not merely because we have the best equipment, but because we have the best people by far.
The Donald then bizarrely congratulated the airmen and women present for being ‘better looking than Tom Cruise’, of Top Gun fame, adding:
We know they can fight better, and we know they can fly better.
Hours earlier, National Security Advisor, H.R. McMaster, told reporters at the White House, ‘North Korea remains one of the world’s most urgent and dangerous security problems.’
McMaster confirmed Washington’s desires to see diplomacy result in a de-nuclearlized Korean peninsula, adding:
For those who have said and have been commenting about the lack of a military option, there is a military option.
Now, it’s not what we would prefer to do, so what we have to do is call on all nations, call on everyone to do everything we can to address this global problem short of war.
South Korea’s President, Moon Jae-in, said dialogue between neighbours is ‘impossible in a situation like this’, and the South has power, enough to destroy Kim Jong-un’s northern state ‘beyond recovery‘.
The UN Security Council unanimously approved new sanctions earlier this week over the nuclear test. Meanwhile, Nato called for a ‘global response’ to the latest test.
Regardless, Trump apparently reckons Maverick’s got our back.
