President Donald Trump has offered to help out terminally ill baby Charlie Gard in a new tweet.
The announcement comes as parents Chris Gard and Connie Yates have been given more time with their child before his life-support is switched off.
Charlie is being treated for a rare genetic condition and brain damange at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
The president tweeted:
If we can help little #CharlieGard, as per our friends in the U.K. and the Pope, we would be delighted to do so.
Chris and Connie have been trying to get Charlie to America to undergo a therapy trial, however, specialists at the hospital warned the remedy was experimental and would not help.
The couple recently released a video in which they revealed they’d been given the news that Charlie’s life support would be turned off last Friday, the decision was later reversed to give his parents more time with their son.
The grief stricken parents added that they had been denied to be able to take their son home to die after losing their legal battle.
The received over $1.3 million from donors to take him over to America for the experimental treatment.
