If you’re Muslim, Mexican or female, it’s really not great to be around Donald Trump right now but just thank your lucky stars that you’re not a member of his family.
According to a new investigative article from the New York Times, which delves into Trump’s family life, the businessman turned Republican presidency wannabe Trump once actually withheld medical care for a disabled infant out of revenge.
The horrific anecdote all centres on Trump’s relationship with his older brother Freddy, a former pilot who died in 1981 at the age of 43.
The two brothers always had a strained relationship because of Freddy’s alcoholism but things went from bad to worse when the terms of their late father’s will were revealed.
After Freddy’s death, his son Fred III married and had a son of his own, who developed seizures and cerebral palsy. The Trump family initially promised to pay all of William’s medical bills.
However, when Donald and Freddy’s father, Fred Sr’s will was read (which Donald helped draft after his dad passed away in 1999), it was revealed that the bulk of his $20 million inheritance was to be split between his children and their descendants, except for Fred III. So far, so petty.
According to the Times, Fred III’s family then sued claiming an earlier version of the will had entitled them to their father’s share of the estate, but that Donald and his siblings had used “undue influence” over their grandfather, who had dementia, to cut them out.
A week later, Donald Trump withdrew the medical benefits which were critical to his nephew’s young child.
And Trump’s explanation for doing something so heinous was pretty straightforward – “I was angry because they sued”.
Just when you thought this guy couldn’t actually sink any lower, he continues to surprise you.
Then again, given this is the same guy who once publically mocked a reporter with a disability, and continues to say outrageous and offensive things on a near daily basis, maybe we shouldn’t be that surprised by this latest revelation about Trump being an utterly deplorable human being.
