If you like heavy metal, choirs, and descending into the deepest depths of Hell itself to lay waste to its fiery minions in a blaze of blood, guts, and glory, I might have something for you.

Composer Mick Gordon us currently assembling a team of “heavy metal screamers” that he intends to fashion into a heavy metal choir for an unspecified video game that is very probably DOOM Eternal.

I’d like to quickly bagsy Heavy Metal Choir as a band name before we continue.

Gordon explained in a YouTube video:

I’m currently writing music for a video game. I really want to record a choir. But for this project, I don’t want to record a regular choir; I want to record a choir made up entirely of Heavy Metal Screamers.

As far as Gordon’s aware, there’s never been anything quite like a heavy metal choir before. As such, he extended an “open invitation” to anyone who might want to give it a try.

He’s looking for “all types of screamers” and level of experience isn’t an issue – nor is gender. As long as you’re over 18, have a “killer metal scream” and are willing to give it a good go, Gordon wants you.

There is a catch, because isn’t there always. If you’re selected, you will have to fund your own journey to Austin, Texas, in the first week of March 2019. I’d imagine that immediately puts the majority of UK residents out of the running, since that really wouldn’t be cheap.

If you do make it Stateside to participate, you’ll be paid an (unspecified) amount, and receive a credit from the game that we can’t confirm is – but still really probably is – DOOM Eternal.

If you’re still interested, you can fill in Gordon’s application form and attach an “awesome” demo. I shudder to think how many Rick Rolls the poor composer is gonna have to trudge through as he makes his selection.
