Lucy Hill is fighting for her life and in desperate need of blood transfusions after she was left suffering with anaemia following surgery after a moped crash.
According to the BBC, the 21-year-old graduate from Bury suffered a broken pelvis and brain haemorrhage when a car collided with her moped in Bangkok on Saturday afternoon – just six days into her trip.

Her family and friends made a desperate international plea to help find the rare A-Negative blood she needs, as fewer then one per cent of Thai people have ‘negative’ blood groups. The social media campaign is aiming to find Western travellers or ex-pats who may have Lucy’s blood type.
Her dad Phil told the Manchester Evening News (MEN) that dozens of people queued outside the Maharaja Nakorn Chiang Mai Hospital from 6am this morning to give blood and, as a result, another six units have been donated.

Mr Hill told the MEN:
People have inundated us with offers of help. She is likely to need more surgery to work on her eye socket. They have had to shave her head, which I think was a shock to my wife when she first saw her lying in hospital. I feel helpless here on the other side of the world.
The response to the family’s plea has been overwhelming with people even offering to fly out to Thailand to donate blood in person, while others have started looking into the possibility of donating in the UK and sending it over.
