A New York City estate agent has been arrested after reportedly stealing a cab right in front of a police precinct last Friday.
Kinga Tabares, 27, got into a drunken argument with the taxi driver before nicking his car. She was later arrested and has been charged with grand larceny, unauthorised use of a vehicle and driving while intoxicated.
The New York Post has reported that the taxi driver, 50-year-old Ronal Desir, picked Tabares and a female friend up from Little West 12th Street in the early hours of Friday morning but the women’s drunken behaviour caused the driver to make a stop at the 13th Precinct Station to get help.
But while Desir was inside, Tabares reportedly got into the driver’s seat and drove off with the cab. She got about five blocks before she stopped to vomit out of the window when she was arrested by police. She was transported to nearby Bellevue Hospital where she allegedly refused to take a breathalyser test.
In a post to her Instagram on Tuesday, four days after the alleged incident, Tabares wrote:
They all want to break me, but they forget they made me. I am a product of every ill person and situation that has been thrown my way…
Haven’t quite managed to decipher that one just yet.
