Ed Sheeran has spoken out about his cameo on Game of Thrones as well as revealing the real reason he quit Twitter.
Sheeran made a brief appearance in Monday’s episode,’Dragonstone’ – his cameo was mocked by some fans who believe the singer’s inclusion was misjudged – and there were rumours this had lead Ed to delete his Twitter account.
But the singer posted a photo on Instagram alongside a caption insisting he didn’t quit Twitter because of the negative reaction and said he isn’t worried about being on Game of Thrones because it’s ‘clearly fuckin’ awesome’.

He said:
Last I’ll say on this. I came off Twitter Coz I was always intending to come off Twitter, had nothing to do with what people said about my game of thrones cameo, because I am in game of thrones, why the hell would I worry what people thought about that.
It’s clearly fuckin’ awesome. Timing was just a coincidence, but believe what you want.
Here is an unrelated picture of me and my wonderful manager riding off into the sunset together.
Ed’s Twitter account has since been reactivated, but his bio reads:
I don’t use this anymore, please follow me on @teddysphotos on instagram, lots of love x
He has had an on/off relationship with Twitter, and shortly after headlining Glastonbury at the end of June, Ed admitted he wasn’t interested in using it because comments made by trolls would ‘ruin his day’.
It’s a shame people can’t just let him get on with things.
