Even nice guy Ed Sheeran can’t escape online trolls and because of the constant streams of abuse online, he has quit Twitter.
Opening up about nasty comments after closing Glastonbury a couple of weekends ago, Ed says the mean things people say ‘ruins’ his day.
He added he was left wondering why people dislike him so much. We don’t, Ed.
He told The Sun:
I’ve actually come off Twitter completely. I can’t read it.
I go on it and there’s nothing but people saying mean things. Twitter’s a platform for that. One comment ruins your day. But that’s why I’ve come off it.
The head-fuck for me has been trying to work out why people dislike me so much.
It all seemed to come to a head after Glasto when people were accusing Ed of using a backing track alongside his performance of ‘Castle on the Hill’.
Ed famously uses a loop pedal, which some people obviously couldn’t grasp.
After his post, Ed shared some tweets to announce his 2018 stadium tour and has since just used Twitter to share some Instagram pics.
Don’t let the trolls get you down.
