Earlier this year, Channan Petrides removed herself from the organ transplant waiting list, so that she could make the most of her remaining time.
Channan, 22, was born with cystic fibrosis, and was told her life expectancy would be about 40 years, but recently she learnt that she was now in the late stages of illness, and sadly has about 18 months left to live.
Knowing this, she wrote herself a bucket list…
You can see that next to ‘Meet Ed Sheeran’ there are a few question marks. But now she canofficially tick that off, after meeting Ed at one of his Wembley gigs last week.
She said:
He was so lovely and genuine, he had a great sense of humour and was really easy to get on with.
He signed my programme and we took some selfies together. He smelt amazing.
A few months ago, I was so unwell I was worried if I’d ever make it to Ed Sheeran’s gig, but I did and it was incredible and I also got to meet him backstage.
People struggle to believe how ill I am because I don’t look it.
But the truth is that I do only have a certain amount of time left to live.
My lungs rip so I cough up blood, and I’ve been on morphine since November for chronic chest pain.
We really need better understanding of cystic fibrosis and how to treat it.
Fair play to the girl, she isn’t letting her pain hold her back. As you can see, she’s ticket a lot off her list already, with plans made to finish the rest off!
Good luck to Channan, and fair play to Ed, they both seem like top people!
