Elon Musk has released the first image of the SpaceX suit that is proposed to be worn by astronauts flying to Mars in the future.
In the new picture, the Tesla and PayPal founder has proven his fashion tastes are minimalist given he’s a billionaire.
The design has also been tested. This isn’t just for show.
He spoke about his plans to release further pictures information within the coming days on his Instagram.
He wrote:
First picture of SpaceX spacesuit. More in days to follow. Worth noting that this actually works (not a mockup).
Already tested to double vacuum pressure. Was incredibly hard to balance aesthetics and function. Easy to do either separately.
Elon Musk has always been up front about his plans to get humans to Mars with the help of his SpaceX company.
He said:
If we can get the cost of moving to Mars to be roughly equivalent to a median house price in the United States, which is around $200,000, then I think the probability of establishing a self sustaining civilization is very high.
I’ve reached out to Musk to see if he can book me a spot on that first trip. Will let you all know how it goes.
