Daenerys of House Targaryen, the First of Her Name, Queen of Meereen, Queen of the Andals, the Rhoynar and the First Men, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains, Mother of Dragons and Grade A prankster?
While Daenerys terrorises the Dothraki on screen, it seems Emilia Clarke enjoys bullying them off screen, teasing her imposing co-stars with pranks while they rest in the green room.
HBOOne of the Dothraki Khals, played by played by Joseph Naufahu, explained to Vulture why you should never fall asleep when the Khaleesi’s about.
Poor Naufahu told how he’s woken up several times with Dothraki scribbled on his arm or forehead, usually ‘Qoy Qoyi,’ which means ‘blood of my blood’.
The culprit? Clarke, who apparently can’t resist picking on the sleeping Dothraki.
HBOHowever one day the would-be-conqueror of the Seven Kingdoms apparently put the pen aside, deciding that a stickier prank was in order.
He explained:
I had my dessert sitting on the table, and she decided to smear the dessert on me.
She put caramel fudge all over my fingers, all over my costume, and she was about to feed it to me, but I woke up. I woke up with a spoon in my mouth.
HBOThe actor does have an explanation for Clarke’s pranks though, joking that she may have been ‘high’ on the propane fumes that were being used on set.
As annoying as it is to wake up covered in pudding or ink it’s probably better than being roasted alive by The Mother of Dragons…
