GettyEmily Ratajkowski and Amy Schumer joined crowds at the Hart Senate Office Building in protest against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
The comedian, and model/actor were arrested, along with 300 others, yesterday (October 5), during protests.
Hundreds of people turned up in Washington DC at the US Senate building to challenge Kavanaugh’s nomination after three women have come forward and accused him of sexual misconduct.
Ratajkowski took to Instagram following her release, and wrote:
Today I was arrested protesting the Supreme Court nomination of Brett Kavanaugh, a man who has been accused by multiple women of sexual assault.
Men who hurt women can no longer be placed in positions of power.
Kavanaugh’s confirmation as a Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States is a message to women in this country that they do not matter. I demand a government that acknowledges, respects and supports women as much as it does men.
According to police, a total of 302 people were arrested during the protests which took place at the Hart Senate Office Building on Capitol Hill.

Schumer told a CNN producer that she was arrested, while Ratajkowski confirmed it on social media.
The two women were among hundreds of demonstrators who took to Capitol Hill in Washington DC, as lawmakers discussed and reviewed the FBI report on the allegations made against Supreme Court nominee Kavanaugh.

The Women’s March, a group of activists formed in response, and opposition of, President Trump, were also at the demonstration.
The full senate is voting on Kavanaugh this Saturday, October 6.

Brett Kavanaugh, a former attorney and judge, was nominated to join the Supreme Court in July this year by President Trump.
During the Senate’s confirmation process, however, Dr Christine Blasey Ford accused Kavanaugh of having sexually assaulted her in the 1980s.
Following this, two more women accused him of sexual misconduct. He has so far denied all the allegations.
