Tom Hardy is undeniably a man of many talents, but until now the world didn’t realise he also had the power to save 2016, just in the nick of time.
Dispelling the madness of Max and the darkness of Bane, Tom Hardy read the CBeebies Bedtime Story to tens of thousands of sleepy kids this New Year’s Eve.
The 39-year-old actor, who recently became a second-time dad, helped parents nationwide usher in 2017 with a little peace and quiet – with the help of his dog, Woody.
When it was announced last month that Hardy would be reading You Must Bring a Hat by Simon Philip and Kate Hindley live on air, Twitter mums flooded the radio waves with glee.
But it wasn’t just mothers who were impressed with Hardy’s recital.
It turns out the guy who can handle playing the Kray twins – two of London’s baddest bad guys, in one film – is actually one of the good guys.
There’s nothing like a little escapism courtesy of the good ole’ BBC and Tom Hardy, so head over to BBC iPlayer to watch it now and ease those pesky hangovers.
Happy 2017, folks. It’s all looking up!
