Stop the presses guys, it’s big news for iPhone owners as WhatsApp release a ‘big’ update today.
That’s right, the world’s most popular messaging app has just launched version 2.16.7 featuring a host of new features for iOS users, reports the Daily Star.
And what exactly are these world beating new updates?
Yep. It basically seems to boil down to the ability to send large emojis and zoom when recording videos directly from the app.
And just to make it a little more annoying – this ‘upgrade’ is over 70MB in size so probably best to connect to Wi-Fi before updating.
However, in slightly more exciting WhatsApp news, they’ve also quietly rolled out a new font that can be applied to your conversations by typing a secret character before and after your message…
To give it a go, open a new or existing message thread on Whatsapp and add the characters ”’ before and after your conversation – for example ‘”The new WhatsApp update is a bit of a waste of time.’”

Once sent, the secret characters disappear leaving your message with its snazzy new look font.
If you’ve got an iPhone, just tap 123 on the keyboard then press and hold the apostrophe button (bottom left) and you’ll see a list of new characters including the secret font changer – although I can’t get it to work.
Without a doubt the game has definitely been changed.
