Oh boy, it’s all been kicking off over at the house of the OAP who killed a burglar during a recent botched robbery.
As reported yesterday, the family of slain thief Henry Vincent built a make-shift shrine to their deceased relative outside the home in Hither Green, south-east London.
But soon enough a vigilante hunter came and cut down the floral tributes to the 37-year-old career criminal who was stabbed to death by Richard Osbon-Brooks.
On Tuesday afternoon, however, the family returned to the property to rebuild the shrine only for them to be destroyed by the vigilante 30 minutes later who trampled on the piled up remains.
The Sun reports, he said:
The flowers need burning. They are an insult to the memory of the geezer who was burgled. It’s an insult. I reckon he [Vincent] is good off dead. He deserves to be dead. All the f***ing family are rubbish. They’re all dirty stinking travellers. It shouldn’t f***ing happen.
Blue balloons adorned with messages such as ‘you’ll be missed and ‘I love you’ were also attached to the original shrine over the weekend.
A card from one of Vincent’s daughters read:
They don’t know what they’re on about, they only know what they read, but I will try my hardest to get people to understand who you really was.
Sorry dad that I wasn’t with you and tell you that everything was going to be alright, you must have been frightened by yourself.
I’ll stand up for you dad, I won’t let you down ‘cos I know you wouldn’t let me down.
Detectives investigating the case believe there was a struggle in the kitchen which resulted in the burglar, aged 38, receiving a stab wound in the upper chest, reports The Mirror.
One witness claims he heard ‘moaning and groaning’ before a man, thought to be the burglar, collapsed to the ground. Another man, thought to be his accomplice, was seen trying to pick up the body and put it into a white van but was unsuccessful and fled the scene alone.
Brooks was later arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm which was quickly upgraded to murder before being dismissed.
After the fatal stabbing five forensic officers entered the house to gather evidence.
Following Osborn-Brooks arrest there was a huge campaign to have him released without action as most believed he was simply protecting his home and his wife.
A traveller friend of Vincent told MailOnline:
I know that Henry Vincent would have killed the pensioner first if he could have got away with it, but they will act like he’s the victim in all of this,’ he said.
This poor man and his wife won’t be safe going back into their own home. Anything could happen.
They won’t get over a death of one of their own and they won’t rest until they get their revenge against anyone who takes a cherished loved one,’ said the traveller who knew them for many years. And when I say revenge, I mean they’ll go armed with whatever they’ve got – guns, knives, anything that they can lay their hands on.
Weird times we live in.
