Warning: Spoiler Alert!

Marvel Studios

I can appreciate there are some people who haven’t had the opportunity to watch Avengers: Infinity War yet, if you happen to be among those poor unfortunate souls please read carefully…

We’re about to delve into a well known, yet scary place called ‘spoiler territory’, so if you haven’t seen Infinity War yet then please kindly remove yourself from this article, watch the film and then come back to read this delightful piece of content.

I don’t want to be held responsible for ruining someone’s MCU experience.

Happily check out the footage below, but then honestly, that’s it:

So, for those who’ve seen Inifity War you know what’s happened, Thanos got hold of all six Infinity Stones snapped his fingers and *poof* half of the MCU was wiped out. Thus leaving fanboys and fangirls in a state of shock as they cried into their popcorn.

Hell, one guy even passed out!

While you can’t place the fault at any of the MCU heroes feet, fans are still looking for someone to blame – and they’ve found it in Chris Pratt, who plays Peter Quill, aka Guardians of the Galaxy’s Star-Lord.

Marvel Studios

While taking a much-deserved break from the whirlwind press tour of Marvel’s latest magnum opus with activities such as fishing, looking after his sheep and spending quality time with his son, Pratt has been receiving mad shade from Marvel fans on Instagram.

This is probably due to his part in Thanos finally completing his lifelong goal of obtaining all six Infinity Stones. Star-Lord, Spider-Man, Iron Man, Mantis, Dr Strange and Drax nearly succeed in beating the Mad Titan and taking the Infinity Gauntlet off of his massive bear claw of a hand.

However, when Star-Lord discovers Thanos killed Gamora – who Quill happens to be in love with – he loses the plot and attacks him.

This gives Thanos enough time to regain his sense to stop the heroes from taking his precious glove and take the Time Stone belonging to Dr Strange at the same time.

From there, he’s able to go to Wakanda and take the Mind Stone – which was lodged in Vision’s head – and wipe out the half of the MCU. Thus giving Thanos the victory and concluding one of the darkest MCU storylines ever.

The trouble with films like this is, overzealous fans tend to go overboard, blurring the line between fiction and reality and as a result, they’ve since taken to Pratt’s IG comments to let him know they blame him for letting Thanos win.

One person wrote:

WHY DID YOU PUNCH THANOS, YOU COULD’VE PREVENTED THE DESTRUCTION OF HALF OF THE POPULATION OF THE UNIVERSE

Another person said:

The infinity gauntlet was out of his hand. Wyd.

One person was pretty blunt about how he felt about Star-Lord’s actions, telling Pratt:

Its your fault Thanos still have the infinity stones

Yet the worst and most damning critique came from Instagram user james_putnam who told Chris:

… I’m not mad at you. But I’m disappointed in your actions.

Ouch, that’s got to be the worst one – it’s the kind of thing your parents would say to you when you’ve done something super terrible.

I guess we’ll have to wait until May 2019 for the as-yet-untitled Avengers film to see if the remaining heroes can undo Star-Lord’s gaffe.
