Greater Manchester Police this morning confirmed that they now know the identities of all those who sadly lost their lives in the attack on Manchester arena.

Since that announcement, the BBC has learned that one of the 22 who died was in fact an off-duty police officer who was at the concert with her husband and two children.

The unnamed officer’s husband is reportedly critically ill in hospital and their two children were also injured.

Martyn Hett, who was reported missing after Monday night’s terrorist attack at Manchester Arena, was also confirmed to have lost his life.

The 29-year-old PR manager from Stockport was at the Ariana Grande concert with friend, Stuart Aspinall – but the two became separated at the end.

Martyn’s death was confirmed by his boyfriend Russell Hayward.

He tweeted:

We got the news last night that our wonderful, iconic and beautiful Martyn didn’t survive. He left the world exactly how he lived, centre of attention. I’m in a really bad way so please forgive if I don’t reply.

Thankfully I have his wonderful and amazing friends to keep each other strong. I love you Martyn. I always will.

Our thoughts are with all those affected by this awful tragedy.
