UFOlogists are salivating over this footage of an alleged unidentified flying object.

Astounding footage of two German fighter jets intercepting a Jet Airways 777-300ER bound for London, carrying 345 passengers over German airspace, isn’t enough to excite the truth-seekers, apparently.

The German Air Force sent the Eurofighter Typhoons to escort the passenger plane after it suddenly cut off radio contact with terra firma, reports the Mirror.

A Jet Airways spokesman released a statement about the incident, saying:

Contact between Jet Airways flight 9W 118, from Mumbai to London Heathrow, of February 16, 2017, and the local ATC [Air Traffic Control], was briefly lost while flying over German airspace.

Communication was safely restored within a few minutes. As a precaution, the German Air Force deployed its aircraft to ensure the safety of the flight and its guests. The flight with 330 guests and 15 crew subsequently landed at London without incident.

A pilot in command of a trailing British Airways plane was able to film the dramatic operation from a dashcam. But, not satisfied to watch the operation unfold, some conspiracy theorists have noticed something they deem far more interesting captured in the footage.

During the operation, some hawk-eyed Internet Detectives have noticed a dark object flying through the sky from West to East of the footage frame, underneath the jets.

The object can be briefly seen in the footage below at 1 minute and 30 seconds:

Sharing the video to Facebook, the page Cirrus Pilot noted the overwhelming response from UFO hunters.

While some are convinced this object is an alien UFO, others have explained the black spot we see could be merely ‘a shadow of another aircraft crossing above’ or a flaw in the footage.

The search for extra-terrestrials continues for another day.
