Square Enix really want you guys to know about Final Fantasy 15.
Following the announcement that the game itself will see a September 30 release date, we got word that the franchise is getting an anime prequel called Brotherhood: Final Fantasy XV. What more could we want?
How about a full length CGI feature film with actors from the likes of Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones? Go on then.
Square Enix is producing the effort, called Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV.
It tells the story of Noctis’ dad, King Regis and the politics that ended up causing the war that envelops the kingdom of Lucis.
If none of that makes sense to you right now, it will eventually (I promise).
So who’s in it?
Why, none other than Lena Headey (Cersei from Game of Thrones) and Sean Bean, who has a habit of dying in the majority of his roles (and is also in Game of Thrones). Those guys will be playing King Regis and Luna.
Meanwhile, Breaking Bad alum Aaron Paul will be lending his voice to proceedings. He’ll be playing a character called Nyx (who you can see above).
Check out a trailer below.
Movies, anime spin offs, shiny cars, and an a game ten years in the making – Final Fantasy 15 is shaping up to be something very special indeed.
