The deception of perfect Instagram photos is being challenged again, this time by fitness blogger Carly Rowena.

Carly, a personal trainer, has shown that what you see on social media isn’t always as perfect as it may seem – by turning her pot belly into a rippling six-pack in seconds.

The fitness blogger regularly shares her workout routines and fitness tips on Instagram but has voiced her disdain for the pressure to look a certain way.

In the video, Carly makes an important point on the power of visual trickery by showing how breathing in-and-out instantly changes the definition of her abs.

Alongside the video, she wrote:

There are many things i love about social media but one of the things i wish i could change is this obsession with being perfect, we all have good, bad and normal days, in truth there is no such thing as perfect but there is such things as beauty, it comes naturally and has nothing to do with appearance but heart. I’ve wanted to film this little body video for awhile, you can pull it in, push it out or relax, all looks are the same and neither one more healthy.

With more than 300,000 followers on YouTube and 89,000 on Instagram, Carly’s message is vital to those who believe the ‘smoke and mirrors’ effect on Instagram posts.

Along with fellow fitness bloggers Jessica Pack and Anna Victoria, Carly is proving that there is no such thing as ‘perfection’.
